Christopher Simpson’s distinguished record illustrates decades of committed service.
A Jackson High graduate, Simpson served in the U.S. Army and Michigan Army National Guard, deploying to Iraq in 2003. He attended 杰克逊的大学 and graduated from Spring Arbor University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He also graduated from the FBI National Academy, Police School of Staff and Command, and New Chief School and Executive Leaders. A decorated Jackson City Police officer for 26 years, Simpson served many assignments and rose to the rank of lieutenant. He currently serves as undersheriff of Jackson County, appointed in 2020.
Simpson has served in leadership roles for the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, Jackson Human Services Coordinating Alliance, 杰克逊基督教青年会, Jackson Community Foundation, 海菲尔德, Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Jackson County NAACP, and the 杰克逊的大学 Foundation. 杰克逊的大学 recognized Simpson with the 2022 Dr. Ethelene Jones Crockett Distinguished 校友 Award.
Honored for his dedication to service, he’s received numerous military medals and citations, 警察的荣誉, and community recognitions. He and his wife, Erica, have four children and one grandson.
